Dear All, 

 

 

We are pleased to announce that the Trusts, Wealth Management and Philanthropy Conference 2025 will be held at The University of Hong Kong on 3-4 July 2025. The event is co-organised by the Yong Pung How Law School of Singapore Management University, York Law School, and HKU Faculty of Law. The Conference marks the 10th anniversary of the conference series by the same name. 

 

 

The 2025 Conference will focus on Trust and Innovative Philanthropy, exploring key themes such as: 

 

1.  Innovations and Developments in Chinese Charity Law; 

 

2.  New Perspectives in Philanthropy - e.g., novel research and practices in the philanthropic sector which provide impactful perspectives on philanthropic models, strategies and policies; and 

 

3.  Responsible investing - e.g., the development, trends and challenges of responsible investment practices including ethical investing and impact investing. 

 

 

There will be keynote addresses by: 

Dr Ruth Shapiro, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society, 

Prof Dana Brakman Reiser, Brooklyn Law School, 

Prof Matthew Harding, Melbourne Law School, and 

Prof Jin Jinping, Peking University Faculty of Law. 

 

 

To present at the Conference, please submit a working title and an abstract (of no more than 150 words) by 15 October 2024to Trust2025@hku.hk. A selection of the papers will be published as a symposium in the Hong Kong Law Journal. There are no speaker registration fees for those whose papers are accepted by this conference. Speakers and attendees are expected to meet their own travel costs and accommodation.
