Centre for Property Law, University of Reading; call for papers
The
Centre for Property Law
The University of Reading
The fifth biennial conference of the Centre for Property Law will be held
at the University of Reading from the evening of Tuesday 23rd March 2004
to close of business on Thursday 25th March. This is a call for offers
of papers to be presented at the conference. We would welcome papers on
any area of property law. Proposals consisting of a title and a short
abstract (no more than 300 words) should be sent to Lizzie Cooke to arrive
no later than Tuesday 23rd September; the executive committee of the Centre
will meet shortly after that date to make a selection.
Contributors are asked to bear in mind that if their papers are accepted
they will be invited to submit a draft of not more than 10,000 words (including
notes) by the end of April 2004 to be considered for publication in the
third volume of Modern Studies in Property Law in 2005. It is hoped that
most of the conference papers will be published, but contributors are
reminded that papers are refereed for inclusion, by a panel of distinguished
academics from outside Reading, so that no promises can be made!
You may like to bear in mind two changes to the format for the 2004 conference.
First, we have decided not to use parallel sessions; delegates will therefore
be able to hear all papers. We expect still to be able to accept around
20 papers and that speakers will have at least 35-40 minutes. Second,
we shall be meeting at the Bulmershe campus of Reading University, quite
close to the main campus with which most of you will be more familiar.
The School of Law has used Bulmershe Hall for a couple of dinners during
this year and have been very impressed with its facilities.
