Just Published!
Dear
Colleagues,
One
of our ODG members, Stephen Waddams, has recently published Dimensions
of Private Law: Anglo-American Categories and Concepts with
Cambridge University Press. Congratulations to Stephen! The argument
of the book is that "many legal issues cannot be allocated exclusively
to one [doctrinal] category. Often several concepts have worked
concurrently and cumulatively, so that competing explanations and
categories are not so much alternatives, of which only one can be
correct, as different dimensions of a complex phenomenon, of which
several may be simultaneously valid and necessary." A discussion
of this new book will be one of the highlights of the 33rd Annual
Workshop on Consumer and Commercial Law will be held at the Faculty
of Law of the University of Toronto on Friday and Saturday, October
17-18, 2003. Should you be interested in attending, please contact
the Workshop Convenor: JACOB ZIEGEL at j.ziegel@utoronto.ca.
Happy
Reading,
--
