Subject: Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury

I just noticed that there was a recent appointment to the HL on 11 Jan 2007: Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury. One newspaper article stated that: "It is thought that Neuberger's rise is one of the quickest in the judicial" history. It also stated that he is an expert in property and trust law.

Any thoughts from our UK colleagues of the appointment? Why the sudden rise? What is his general reputation?
