Subject: Order in the Court
Colleagues:
Some of you might smile at Baker v. The Regional Municipality of York (2006), 84 O.R. (3d) 279 (S.C.J.), which would be a fairly standard occupiers' liability case except for the somewhat unusual facts that the plaintiff was a witness in some other court case and fell while exiting the witness box. If one isn't going to be torted right outside a hospital, then maybe right in a courtroom is the next best thing.
