Subject: Tenure Track Postion in Common Law at Université de Montréal -- Contract & Torts

Dear colleagues:

The Université de Montréal has an opening for a tenure-track professor at the assistant/associate level in the law faculties common law program. We are seeking an individual who is interested in teaching in private law, and especially with interests in contracts, torts, and remedies. We are not currently seeking candidates with interest in teaching public law or its related areas. Candidates should have a good first professional degree in common law as well as a PhD or its equivalent. In addition, they will, of course, be expected to have a solid record of publication in appropriate law reviews and journals.

It is important to note that the Université de Montréal is the largest university in French Canada and, therefore, an ability to function administratively in French is required. Common law courses may, however, be taught in English.

I am happy to discuss the post on an informal basis with those who might be interested. I would also be grateful if you could forward this announcement to others who might be interested.

The official notice of opening may be found here:

Thanks for your consideration.
