Scholarship in Private Law
Dear Colleagues,
Glasgow Law School are offering a PhD scholarship in private
law.
The project must incorporate Scots private law but, importantly,
it can be comparative, i.e. taking an area of English private law and comparing
it to an aspect of private law in Scotland. Indeed,
the winner of the scholarship last year is a graduate of the University of Cape
Town and conducting research on defamation in Scotland and South
Africa.
Students do not need a masters degree. As part of this
scholarship, students can commence the project by way of an LLM by Research and
then transfer to the PhD programme at a later stage.
We are happy to help develop ideas with potential candidates and
welcome applications from any jurisdiction.
The closing date is 31 May 2024. Details are here:
Best wishes,
Stephen
