it is discovered that edgar was sued ten years ago on a debt alleged to have been incurred forty years ago, and successfully defended with a fifteen year S/L? there is plenty of evidence to support the proof of the original obligation; there is no evidence to back up edgar's assertion that he paid the debt many years ago, in front of witnesses since deceased, and with a check since thrown away.

who gets blackacre?
